Abstract
In Boule de Suif, Maupassant established a“carriage conformer”, which put the whole French society of 19th century into a small carriage, through his ingenious artistic conception and skillful expression technique ac-cording to his realistic aesthetic principles.By the construction and contrast of the“carriage conformer” from differ-ent environment and angle, the beauty and ugliness, goodness and evil of different characters are revealed, and the themes of the novel as patriotism, morality as well as personality are emphasized.关键词
