Effects of Water-Soluble Hydroxypropyl Chitosan Derivatives on Immune Function in Mice

Abstract
The effect of molecular weight and dosage of hydroxypropyl chitosan (HPCS) derivative on the immune function is analyzed by comparing the immune organ index ,carbon clearance rate ,delayed type hypersensitivity ,serum hemolysin ( HC 50 ) in mice after administration of two HPCS samples (HPCS1 ,Mw=1 .6 × 105 ,HPCS2 ,Mw=3 .5 × 104 ) .The immune indexes for the HPCS groups in mice are higher compared with the control group .There is significance difference ( P < 0 .05) or ex‐tremely significance difference ( P < 0 .01) for the immune indexes of the HPCS2 group and HPCS1 groups with high dose compared with the control group .No abnormal symptoms ,clinical signs or deaths occurs during the feeding period .The body weights of mice show no significant difference in comparing with the HPCS groups and the control group .The results indicate that the HPCS can en‐hance the immune function of mice .关键词
