Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effects and safety of transcatheter closure of patent foramen ovale(PFO).Methods Patients admitted to author′s hospital to receive transcatheter closure of PFO were enrolled retrospectively during the period from February 2010 to May 2014, clinical data were collected and follow -up information was obtained through telephone or at out-patient clinical interview.Results A total of 35 patients were enrolled,successful occlusion of PFO were obtained in 31 patients(88.6%),including 26 patients with cryptogenic stroke,1 of which was accompanied migraine,3 patients were migraine with aura,2 patients with transient ischemic attack(TIA),in no patients there was stroke occurred after occlusion .Two patients accompanied migraine with aura resolved after 6 months,attacks decreased obviously in 1 patient with migraine.TIA recurrence decreased to 3 times in the first 3 months in 1 patients then no TIA events reoccurred ,1 patient with no TIA reoccurred after occlusion . Conclusions It is effective and safety of transcatheter closure of PFO for secondary prevention of cryptogenic stroke and migraine with aura,while there is still need to strictly management of PFO intervention criterion .关键词
