在土地革命时期，中共在鄂豫皖苏区为了动员农民支持和参加革命，创造了极其多样化的宣传鼓动形式，主要有：办农民夜校、教唱革命歌曲、运用口号标语传单、召开群众会议、创办各种报纸刊物等纸质宣传品等，其综合运用的结果就是产生了浓厚的场景氛围，身处其中的农民被感染而自觉或不自觉地汇入革命洪流之中。
