Abstract
Objective To investigate the incidence of pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD)and analyze the correlation between abnormal pelvic floor muscle strength and related delivery factors after different methods of delivery.Methods A total of 200 full-term pregnant women who were re-examined at 6-8 weeks after deliv-ery were enrolled in this study including 1 00 patients in the vaginal birth group and 1 00 in the cesarean delivery group.All subjects with cesarean delivery were sub-grouped into the cesarean section during labor and elective cesarean delivery groups.Pelvic floor muscle strength was measured by palpation and equipments.The inci-dence of stress urinary incontinence (SUI)and pelvic organ prolapse (POP)was observed to compare the inci-dence of PFD among different methods of delivery.Results At 6 ~8 weeks after delivery,the incidence of pelvic floor muscle fatigue and the rate of normal muscle fiber strength did not significantly differ among the va-ginal birth,cesarean section during labor and elective cesarean delivery groups (all P >0.05).Prenatal mater-nal body mass index (BMI)was correlated with typeⅠmuscle fiber (P <0.05).The overall incidence of SUI during pregnancy was 27%,and postpartum SUI total incidence was 9%.The postpartum SUI total incidence in the vaginal birth group was higher than that in the cesarean section group (P =0.01 5).The overall inci-dence of POP was 78%.The incidence of POP in the vaginal birth group was significantly higher compared with those in the cesarean section during labor group and the cesarean section group (all P <0.01 7).Conclu-sions Cesarean section fails to reduce the incidence of abnormal pelvic floor muscle strength,whereas it de-creases the incidence of SUI and POP during early postpartum.Prenatal maternal BMI is a factor correlated with postpartum pelvic floor muscle strength.Much attention should be paid to body weight control before and during pregnancy.关键词
