Abstract
The simulation results of mushroom EBG structure show that the reason of the inconsistency between the surface wave bandgap and the transmission characteristic curve is that the EBG structure causes the strong scattering of surface wave in some frequency of surface wave bandgap. By using micro-strip patch antenna model, the result shows that the scattering property of EBG structure will make the front-to-rear ratio worse. Finally, by appropriately adjusting the size of the EBG structure in the condition that the surface wave bandgap is almost the same, the frequency band with strong scattering will be removed out of the bandgap, which improves the front-to-rear ratio of patch antenna in the whole surface wave bandgap. At the same time, it ensures the consistency among the surface wave bandgap, the transmission characteristic curve and the frequency band with the improved front-to-rear ratio of the patch antenna.关键词
