Study on Relationship Between Life Events of Mothers During Pregnancy and Infant Epilepsy

Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between life events of mothers during pregnancy and infant epilepsy. Methods 56 infants with unexplained epilepsy in our department from March 2011 to April 2013 were selected as the observation group, and 55 cases of healthy infant were selected as the control group. The life events of mothers during pregnancy of two groups were evaluated by life event scale (LES), and compared between two groups. Results The LES score during pregnancy of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse life events of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05). Among cases of observation group, the LES score of second birth was significantly higher than that of primary birth and third birth (P<0.05). Conclusions The adverse life events of mothers during pregnancy are positively associated with infant epilepsy;more adverse life events of mothers during pregnancy lead to higher incidence of infant epilepsy.关键词
