Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effect of intermittent endocrine therapy on advanced prostate cancer. Methods Clinical data of 56 patients with advanced prostate cancer treated in our hospital from January 2013 to March 2014 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were divided into control group (28 cases) and experimental group (28 cases) according to different treatment method. The control group was given continuous endocrine therapy, the experimental group was given intermittent endocrine therapy. The clinical effects, adverse reactions and five-year survival rate between the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate (92.86%v s 85.71%) and five-year survival rate (78.57%vs 71.43%) of the two groups had no statistical difference (P>0.05), but the marked effective rate of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group (57.14%vs 25.00%), with statistical difference (P <0.05). The incidence of osteoporosis and reduced sex drive between the two groups had no statistical difference (P>0.05), but the incidence of fever, anemia and appetite drops in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistical difference (P<0. 05). Conclusions For patients with advanced prostate cancer, intermittent endocrine therapy has significant effect and can greatly improve the functions and life quality of patients, with fewer adverse reactions, which is safe and reliable and deserves clinical application.关键词
