Application of Alternating Current Field Measurement Technique in Nondestructive Testing Fillet Welds of Storage Tanks

Abstract
A new nondestructive testing method using alternating current field measurement has been pro-posed fillet welds.The detection principle of alternating current field measurement(ACFM)method is first introduced,and the abnormal magnetic signals induced by crack defects are simulated based on ANSYS software.On the basis of the ACFMdetection system,the ACFMsignal is tested and analyzed by virtue of the standard test plate,and the method is applied successfully to nondestructively inspect fillet welds of a storage tank,accomplishing the evaluation of crack defects qualitatively and quantitatively.The experi-mental test and application result have validated that the ACFM method has a high sensitivity to detect surface or subsurface cracks,providing a reference for other structural defect detection.关键词
