Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between the 18F-FDG SUV (standardized uptake value) and the morphology as well as pathologic type of lung cancers. Methods Retrospective analysis was made on the PET/CT images of 68 lung cancer patients.Patients were divided into three groups according to the size of tumor:maximum diameter of tumor≤3 cm, maximum diameter of tumor 3~7 cm, and maximum diameter of tumor>7 cm. Patients whose maximum diameter of tumor≤7 cm were divided into the squamous carcinoma group, adenocarcinoma group and small cell carcinoma group according to the pathologic type;While the adenocarcinoma patients whose maximum diameter of tumor<7 cm were divided into the phylloides group and sentus group according to the form of tumor. Then analysis of the 18F-FDG SUV(SUVmax means the maximum value measured) was conducted for each group to ifgure out whether there were statistical differences.Results The SUVmax of these three groups whose maximum diameter of tumor≤3 cm, maximum diameter of tumor 3~7 cm, and maximum diameter of tumor>7 cm were respectively (10.74±3.20)、(10.61±3.27) and (13.89±3.31), and the SUVmax of the group whose maximum diameter of tumor>7cm was higher than that of the other two groups.The SUVmax of squamous cell carcinoma group, adenocarcinoma group and small cell carcinoma group are respectively (17.10±2.78), (9.32±2.01) and (9.67±2.53), which had signiifcant differences among the three groups (F=19.3,P<0.01), but the SUVmax between the adenocarcinoma group and small cell carcinoma group had no signiifcant difference(P>0.05).The SUVmax of the phylloides tumor group and the sentus group were (8.97±2.44) and (9.69±2.13), which had no signiifcant difference between these two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Both the size of tumor and pathological type can affect the SUVs.The SUV of the group whose maximum diameter of tumor>7 cm was higher than that of the group whose maximum diameter of tumor≤7 cm;while the SUV of the squamous carcinoma group was higher than that of the adenocarcinoma group and small cell carcinoma group.The SUVs of different forms of tumor had no signiifcant difference.关键词
