The effects of rosuvastatin on the changes of vasoactive substances, pulse pressure index and intima media thickness in patientsw ith hypertension

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of rosuvastatin calcium on vasoactive substances , pulse pressure index ( PPI) and carotid artery intima-media thickness ( IMT) in patients with essential hypertension .Methods Eighty hyperten-sive patients were randomly divided into the observation group of 40 cases, with the antihypertensive drug and rosuvastatin cal-cium 10 mg orally 1 time a day, 40 patients in control group only received the antihypertensive drug .Before treatment,after 1 months, 6 months and 12months of treatment , 2 groups of patient’s high sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP), homocys-teine(Hcy),blood pressure,pulse pressure index and intima media thickness were measured and recorded .Results No statis-tical significance differences of before treatment blood pressure , PPI, serum hs-CRP, Hcy and IMT were found between the 2 groups ( P >0.05).Compared with before treatment, after 1 months of treatment, brachial artery systolic blood pressure, PP in the 2 groups were significantly decreased ( P <0.05), and diastolic blood pressure did not change significantly;after 12 months of treatment, the PPI in control group revealed statistical significance differences ( P <0.05), after 1 months of treat-ment, the observation group’s PPI significantly reduced ( P <0.05).Compared with the control group, after 6 months of treatment, the observation group’s PP and systolic blood pressure decreased more significantly ( P <0.05), and treatment for 1, 6, 12 months later, compared with the same period control group , PPI in the observation group had significant differ-ence ( P <0.05).The observation group after treatment ,serum hs -CRP, Hcy concentration and IMT were significantly de-creased ( P <0.05),compared with the control group,the observation group’s hs-CRP had significant differences at the treat-ment of 1,6,12 months ( P <0.05);after treatment for 6,12 months,Hcy in the observation group had statistical significance <br> difference ( P <0 K.05), treatment for 6 months, IMT also had significant difference ( P <0.05).Correlation analysis showed that PPI and serum hs-CRP, the concentration of Hcy and carotid artery IMT were positively correlated ( r =0.606, r = 0.583, r =0.672, P <0.05).Conclusion Rosuvastatin can significantly reduce the plasma vasoactive substances in hypertensive patients , improve IMT and reduce PPI , and thus inhibit the inflammatory reaction , reduce atherosclerotic plaque , improve blood vessel elasticity .关键词
