Abstract
Objective To observe the expression of aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 (ALDH-1), CD133 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and its clinical significance.Methods Nasopharyngeal carcinoma ( NPC) of 135 cases ( study group) and normal tissue of 97 cases ( control group) were detected with the ALDH-1 and CD133 expression, and statistical analyzed its relation-shipwithclinicaldataforthepatientswithNPC.Results (1)Studygroup’sALDH-1positiveexpressionratewas75.56%(102/135), which was higher than the control group’s 42.30%(42/97) (χ2 =24.945, P <0.05).ALDH-1 score in naso-pharyngeal carcinoma patients’ gender, age, primary carcinoma /metastatic carcinoma, undifferentiated/differentiation car-cinoma and cervical lymph node metastasis did not show significant difference ( t =0.543, t =0.034, t =0.022, t =0.356, t =0.382, P >0.05).(2) Study group’s CD133 expression rate was 35.56%(48/135),which was higher than in the con-trol group 12.37%(12/112) (χ2 =15.824, P <0.05).The expressions of CD133 in patients with primary cancer /meta-static carcinoma, undifferentiated /differentiated carcinoma have significant difference (χ2 =15.028,χ2 =5.186, P <0.05).Gender, age, and with or without cervical lymph node metastasis showed no significant difference (χ2 =1.545,χ2 =0.000,χ2 =0.036, P >0.05).Conclusion ALDH-1 and CD133 in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) had higher positive expression rate, ALDH-1’s clinical value needs to be further studied, and CD133 may have close relationship with nasopharyngeal carcinoma metastasis, pathological type.关键词
