Abstract
The effects of the degree of carboxymethylation on the rheological properties of printing pastes using polysaccharides as thickeners were studied through steady shear tests. And the relations be-tween rheology and printability were discussed by flat screen printing tests. The results showed that the sub-stitution degree of carboxymethyl-cellulose greatly affected the rheological properties of printing pastes. The viscosity of printing pastes using carboxymethyl-cellulose paste with the substitution degree 1.35 was much higher than that with the substitution degree 1.49. With the increase of the substitution degree, the viscosity of printing paste using carboxymethyl-cellulose as thickeners decreased, while the color yield and penetration improved. When the content of carboxymethyl-cellulose was 15% in the stock paste, printed fabric with sharp printing pattern, high color yield and soft hand could be obtained. Within the range from 0.76 to 0.84 of substitution, the viscosity of carboxymethyl starch paste had little change, but the color yield decreased and the penetration increased.关键词
