摘要

Abstract

The WNT1 inducible signaling pathway protein 1 (WISP-1) is a secreted, matricellular protein al ocated to the CCN family. It has been shown that WISP-1 plays an important role in tumorigenesis and tumor growth. Its overexpression is associated with cellproliferation, celladhesion, cellmigration, as wel as extracellular matrix production. Further, recent studies al uded to an possible role of WISP-1 in airway romodeling of asthma. It has been pointed out that the WISP-1 overexpression involves in proliferation of airway smooth muscle cells and lung fibroblasts, inducing extracellular matrix production and subepithelial fibrosis. In this review, we wil present a synopsis of current WISP-1 research with particular at ention paid to the role of WISP-1 in airway remodeling of asthma.
