Incidence of Nosocomial Infection in a Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital:Investigation and Analysis

Abstract
Objective To understand the distribution and characteristics of infectious diseases in a maternity and child health care hospital in order to prevent and control nosocomial infection (NI) ef ectively. Methods With a method of transversal sectional investigation, choosing the Aug. 6, 2013 as the section plane, we investigated al that day’s hospitalized patients, sorted out and analyzed the NI cases. Results The 720 patients investigated,the prevalence rate of NI was 2.08%, the case prevalence rate was 2.36%. The general paediatrics has the highest percentage of infection at 10.34%. Hematological system infection tops the area infected, mainly septicemia, accounting for 29.41%. Delivered rate of etiologic specimens was 86.67%, mainly gram-negative bacil i (58.33%). The ratio of applying antibiotics reached 33.03%. Conclusion By strengthening the surveil ance of high risk departments and the management of antibiotic use the NI control could be improved.关键词
