Abstract
Objective This study is to investigate the caring ability status of emergency department nurses so as to provide a basis for ef ective nursing caring strategies. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted in 100 nurses randomly selected from the emergency departments of 5 hospitals in some city of Jiangxi Province. Results One hundred questionnaires were col ected including 95 valid questionnaires. The overal caring ability score of nurses of emergency department is general y low with a score of 167.89±15.68, within which the scores of patience, cognitive, courage were 47.89±6.79, 58.42 ±8.73, 58.94±20.37, respectively. There is no significant dif erence in dif erent working years of emergency department nurses ( = 1.235, > 0.05); Scores varied significantly for dif erent forms of employment and whether the emergency department nurses was single-child ( =8.375, <0.01 and =8.129, < 0.01, respectively);However, no significant dif erence was found in the nurses possessing dif erent educational degrees ( =1.578, >0.05). Conclusion The caring capacity of nurses in emergency department is low in general. The managers should raise the rate of nurses employed personnel modestly and appropriately raise the wage of temporary nurses so that al the nurses in emergency department can involve the wholeness of themselves into their work. In addition, nurse scheduling should be optimized, the work intensity reduce, the psychological counseling conduct in nurses in emergency departments. Only do these can the caring ability of nurses in emergency departments be improved.关键词
