Divinity and Purity:the Significance of Social Integration of Ji She in Red Yao Longsheng of Guangxi

Abstract
Ji She (the Memorial Ceremony of She), an ancient sacrificial ceremony, has been playing a significant role in the so-cial integration of village communities in all ages. For all ethnic groups’ autonomous counties in Longsheng, Guangxi, the Ji She ceremony in their Red Yao area is accompanied with folk religious organizations in the"She Lao System" (“She Lao” means the leader of the community), which better retains the democratic election of original commune system and the equalitarianism that people eat together and share meat. The ceremony is regarded as one of the core links of the Red Yao village communities. The acknowledgment of people in Red Yao about the divinity and purity of sacrifice promotes the heritage of people’s faith in “She”to a large extent and contributes to the maintenance of the social order of traditional village communities in Red Yao.关键词
