Influence of TiO2 architecture on the performance of supported Pt catalysts for methanol oxidation

Abstract
The architecture of TiO2 supports includes two main types:TiO2 nanotube arrays ( TNTAs) and TiO2 nanowire arrays ( TNWAs) , which have a strong influence on the catalysis properties, however, comparison of the catalysis performance of Pt supported on TNTAs and TNWAs has not been studied yet.In this work, we stud-ied the performances of the two TiO2 supported Pt catalysts for methanol oxidation.Pt/TNTAs and Pt/TNWAs were prepared by microwave heating method.The results demonstrate that Pt/TNTAs show a superior perform-ance than supported on TNWAs for methanol oxidation.We speculate that the excellent activities of Pt/TNTAs are due to the confinement effects.The study reveals that support architecture plays an important role in the per-formances of Pt catalysts for methanol oxidation.关键词
