Abstract
Objective: To explore the correlation of the changes in the inferior vena cava with central venous pres-sure in patients with esophageal and gastric cardia carcinoma during perioperative period. Methods: Between October 2013 and December 2013, a total of 61 patients undergoing thoracotomy for either esophageal or gastric cardia carcinoma were enrolled in this study. The radius of inferior vena cava were measured using bedside ultrasound, respiration variation index (RVI) was calculated and the central venous pressure (CVP) was also recorded before and after surgery (0 h, 24 h, 48 h). Correlation of radius and RVI with CVP were analyzed. Results:The maximum and minimum radius were positively accociated with CVP (r=0.64, 0.71 P<0.01, for both), while RVI was not correlated with CVP (P=0.38). Conclusions: The changes in the inferior vena cava measured by bedside ultrasound may be helpful for blood volume evaluation.关键词
