Single-inductor Dual Output Buck-Boost Power Factor Correction Converters Operating in Critical Conduction Mode

Abstract
The two-stage multiple-output power factor correction (PFC) converter has disadvantages of high cost and large size. In order to solve the above problems, a novel single-inductor dual-output Buck-Boost PFC converter operating in a critical conduction mode (CRM) was proposed in this paper. The control strategy and corresponding characteristics were analyzed. Independent regulation can be achieved in this converter by multiplexing a single inductor. Compared with the conventional two-stage multiple output solution, this solution benefits by significant overall cost saving, small size and light weight of equipments and devices. Due to single stage power conversion, this PFC converter also benefits by high efficiency advantage. Finally, the characteristics of efficiency, power factor, total harmonic distortion (THD) and output accuracy were verified in experimental results.关键词
