A Multi-functional Grid-connected Inverter and Its Application in Micro-grid Access to Distribution System

Abstract
A novel multi-functional grid-connected inverter (MFGCI) of distributed generation (DG) and its control strategy for the MG access to distribution system through isolated transformer was proposed. On the basis of analyzing the synthesis application of instantaneous reactive power theory and unit vector template, the MFGCI with new control strategy can not only deliver the power generation of DG, but also can perform as shunt active power filter (APF) at the points of common coupling (PCC). All these functions can be accomplished either individually or simultaneously according to the DG generate conditions. So it can improve the efficiency of the inverter and decrease the hardware investment. Finally, this new MFGCI and the control concept was demonstrated with extensive PSCAD simulation studies and validated through laboratory experimental results.关键词
