Abstract

In short-term operation of thermal power plants, the conventional methods can not meet requirements of complex time coupling constraints and deep load adjustment. To solve this problem, this paper presented a load shedding method for thermal power plants to do peak regulation based on load reconstruction strategy. Load reconstruction strategy consists of three parts:load tendency simulation, load zoom by equal proportion and load modification by ramp rate. A new load curve, which will be later adopted by load shedding method, is got by load reconstruction strategy depending on time coupling constraints. Moreover, to satisfy other operation constraints, dynamic adjusting strategy for the generation schedules was also embedded in load shedding method. The proposed method has been implemented to the optimal operation of thermal system directly operated by East China Grid and feasible operation scheduling of generation units can be obtained. Compared to conventional methods, the proposed method can achieve better peak regulation effects and is effective and successful in dealing with complex constraints and load adjustment demands.
