摘要

Abstract

If V-type composite insulator string extends to tower body for ±800 kV UHV DC lines, it will bring various technical problems. To solve these problems, this paper carried out the study of the electric field calculation and stress characteristics, impulse discharge characteristics of tower head air gaps and live working analysis. The research shows that, after V-type composite insulator string extends to tower body about 2.0 m, the maximum electric field strength of grading rings and composite insulators can meet the control requirements;the effect on impulse flashover characteristics of tower head air gaps is not obvious; live working operators in and out of the area of high electric field can choose hanging from polar conductors up to high electric field region. The proposal of V-type composite insulator string hanging point into the tower body for ±800 kV UHV DC transmission lines is feasible. The research results can provide relevant technical basis for subsequent UHVDC project design and construction.
