Abstract

The problem of serious vibration caused by magnetic radial force ripple acting on the stator pole has become a major obstacle encountered in the application of reluctance motors.A control strategy is proposed to reduce the stator electromagnetic vibration for the bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM). Under the premises of certain suspension force for stable levitation of the rotor, the control basis of this scheme is to reduce the stator radial force. Based on its operation principle and mathematical models, this paper introduced the fundamental control method for decreasing stator vibration; deduced the motor control parameters such as the main winding current, suspension winding current, turn-on angle and turn-offangle. In addition, a block diagram for this vibration control strategy is developed for its implementation. Simulation and experimental results show that the control strategy not only realizes stable suspension operation for the motor, but also decreases stator vibration, thus validating rightness and feasibility of the theory.
