Abstract
Aiming at the connection between non-plan composite sandwich plates,the configuration of a new composite sandwich T-joint and the corresponding vacuum assisted forming method are propounded. The three-point bending and shear test of the T-joint bending and shear specimens are carried out sepa-rately,and the fabricating process stability,limit capability,and failure modes are analysed. The results validates the stability of the fabricating process, where the bending stiffness and limit bending moment reach 1.44 kN/mm and 1.15 kN·m,respectively, and the shear stiffness and limit anti-shear bending mo-ment reach 230 N/mm and 348 N·m,respectively. The main failure modes include:1)Bending specimen:the initial damage appears at the corner of the trapezoidal transition zone, the interface delamination be-tween outer layer and filler of the transition zone, which represents the strength failure of the joint;2)Shear specimen:the interface delamination initially appears at the end of the cuniform lap zone and then moves to the region between the 45° enhance layer and sandwich batten;finally, the interface delamination between of the transition zone composite layer and filler emerges, while the delamination simultaneity appears at the interface between the 45° enhance layer and its filler, which causes the structure to collapse at last.关键词
