Abstract
Objective: To compare the implant treatment effect on lateral window technique and internal si-nus floor elevation technique in the posterior maxilla with the residual bone height of 4 to 6mm. Meth-ods: 62 patients with 4~6mm residual bone height were underwent maxillary sinus floor elevation with simultaneous implants placement. For group A, 20 patients were placed 35 implants with lateral window technique. For group B, 42 patients were placed 55 implants with internal sinus floor elevation tech-nique. All patients finished implant prosthesis within 7~10 months postoperatively. The observation in-cluded membrane perforation rate, infection rate, hoisting height, bone augmentation and implant sur-vival rate. Results:All patients had no obvious postoperative maxillary sinus inflammation. The hoisting height of group A (7.5±1.3mm) was higher than group B (2.9±0.8mm). The bone augmentation effect of group A was much better than group B. All implants gained osseointegration. Follow up 12~36 months, the implant survival rate was 100%. Conclusion: Lateral window technique is safer and more reliable than internal sinus floor elevation technique on condition that residual bone height is 4 to 6mm.关键词
