Abstract
Objective To study the relationship of atherosclerosis to serum level of interleukin-10 ( IL-10 )in pa-tients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Methods A total of 292 T2DM patients hospitalized in department of endocrinolo-gy,the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from January to June 2013 were divided into groups A( IMT≤1. 0 mm,n=98),B(1. 0 mm<IMT≤1. 3 mm,n=101),C(IMT>1. 3 mm,n=93),and 100 healthy subjects enrolled as control group. Serum IL-10,fasting blood glucose( FBG),glycosylated hemoglobin( HbA1c )and IMT were determined. Results There was significant difference in IMT,IL-10,FBG,HbA1c among the 4 groups(P<0. 05). IMT,FBG,HbA1c were higher in groups A,B,C than in control group(P<0. 05);FBG,HbA1c were higher in group C than in group A(P<0. 05). IL-10 was lower in groups B,C than in groups A,control(P<0. 05),but there was no difference between groups A,control(P>0. 05). IMT was negatively correlated with serum IL -10(r = -0. 57,P <0. 05),but not with FBG, HbA1c(r= -0. 39,-0. 42;P =0. 062,0. 057). Conclusion In T2DM patients,serum IL -10,negatively correlated with IMT,may have a protective effect in formation of carotid atherosclerotic plaques,which provides a useful reference for fur-ther clinical studies.关键词
