Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical significance of treponema pallidum antibody positive in elderly patients.Methods:77 cases with treponema pallidum antibody positive were selected from April 2008 to December 2013.All cases were detected used a double antigen sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA method).Results:In 842 cases of the young group,10 cases with treponema pallidum antibody positive,and the positive rate was 1.19%,accounting for 12.99% of the number of positive cases.In 989 cases of the middle-aged group,21 cases with treponema pallidum antibody positive,and the positive rate was 2.12%, accounting for 27.27% of the number of positive cases.In 1035 cases of the elderly group,46 cases with treponema pallidum antibody positive,and the positive rate was 4.44%,accounting for 59.74% of the number of positive cases.The positive rate in the elderly group was higher than in the young group(P<0.05).Among 10 cases with positive treponema pallidum antibody in the youth group,there were 8 cases had syphilis symptom.Among 21 cases in the middle-aged group,there were 12 cases had syphilis symptom.Among 46 cases in the elderly group,there were 3 cases had syphilis symptom.It was significantly lower in the elderly group than in the young group.Conclusion:When diagnosing elderly patients who with positive syphilis antibody,we should combine with the clinical symptoms,not based on the serological examination simply.关键词
