The curative effect of percutaneous vertebroplasty operation in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the curative effect of percutaneous vertebroplasty operation(PVP) in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression.Methods:90 cases with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures were selected from August 2013 to May 2014.They were performed PVP operation.After the operation,they were treated with antibiotics for 1~2 days according to the conventional.Evaluate the final treatment effect using VAS(visual analogue scale).Results:All the patients were completed PVP operation successfully.After 0.5~5 days of the operation,the pain symptoms of patients began reliefed significantly,until it disappeared.The patients were followed-up for 3~6 months.Before operation,3 days and half a year after operation,VAS scores of the patients were 0~3,8~9 and 8~10.The difference between before operation and three days after operation was statistically significant(P<0.05).When comparied before operation and half year after operation,there was a significant difference(P<0.05).The difference between three days after operation and half year after operation was no significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:The clinical effect of PVP operation treated on patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures is positive.Their clinical pain symptoms relieved significantly.The quality of life improves significantly.The short-term and long-term curative effect both are reliable.关键词
