Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of inguinal hernia repair in young patients by using Desarda technique. Methods The clinical data of 65 young cases of inguinal hernia underwent Desarda technique from May 2008 to August 2013 at Department of General Surgery,the First Hospital Affiliated to General Hospital of PLA were analyzed retrospectively. The 65 cases included 58 cases of indirect hernias,7 cases of direct hernia. There were 21 cases of typeⅠhernia,37 cases of typeⅡhernia and 7 cases of typeⅢhernia. Results All of the 65 cases were operated on with Desarda technique. No intraoperative complication occurred. The mean operative time was(52.6 ± 9.4)min and the mean hospital stay was (6.4 ± 1.6) days. A total of 83.1% (54/65) of cases were ambulatory within 24h after the surgery. The were 89.2%of cases (58/65) with tolerant mild pain, 7.7%(5/65)of cases with severe pain and 12.3%(8/65) of cases need analgesic once or twice on the first day after operation. A total of 93.8%(61/65) of cases were with relieved pain obviously and had only mild discomfort on the third day after operation. The discomfort in 95.4%(62/65) of cases was disappeared in the second weeks after operation. A total of 80.4%(52/65) of cases returned to normal work between 10 and 14 days after the surgery. There was no scrotal haematoma, seroma, wound infection and ischemic orchitis observed within one month after the operation. The follow-up period ranged from 4 to 67 months ( median 39 months), and there was no chronic pain and recurrence. Conclusion Desarda technique is an effective procedure for inguinal hernia in young patients.关键词
