Abstract

This research has collected 705 teacher questionings in 12 hearing-impaired children’s classes through bidirectional video to observe and study the way teachers asking questions in group teaching. It shows that the comprehensive questioning is the main way of open-ended questions and “yes or no” questioning is the main way of closed-ended questions. The number of questioning per minute is significantly different among different age classes. There is no significant difference between open-ended and closed-ended questions among different age classes, but the differences in open questioning between different activities are significant.Teachers are used to ask “yes or no” questions in scientific activities, but not good at asking investigative questions.Children’s response to teacher’s questions is not active. The poor reaction from hearing-impaired children will influence classroom atmosphere and children’s dynamism, as well as activity designing, organization and feedback, which needs to be resolved urgently.
