Effect of α-Lipoic Acid Combined with Compound Qiying Granules for Treating Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy and Its Influence on Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of adding Compound Qiying Granules in treating peripheral neuropathy and its influence on insulin-like growth factor-1. Methods 98 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy admitted to our hospital from August 2013 to March 2014 were selected and randomly divided into the observation group( n=52) and the control group( n=46). The control group was given the basic therapy,α-lipoic acid and mecobalamin,while on this basis the observation group was added with Compound Qiying Granules. The treatment course in the two groups was 20 d. The clinical effects were observed. The symptoms scores were com-pared between before and after treatment. The nerve conduction velocity and the level of insulin-like growth factor-1 were detect-ed. The occurrence situation of adverse drug reactions were recorded. Results The total effective rate after treatment in the observation group was 92. 31%,which was significantly higher than 76. 09% in the control group( P ﹤ 0. 05);the major symptom scores of lower limbs or foot pain,paresthesia,burning sensation and numbness after treatment in both the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment( P ﹤ 0. 05),and the symptoms improvement of the observation group was more obvious( P ﹤ 0. 05);the EMG results showed that the improvement of nerve conduction velocity after treatment in the observation group was obviously better than that in the control group( P ﹤ 0. 05);the level of insulin-like growth factor-1 after treatment in the observation group was obviously higher than that in the control group( P ﹤ 0. 05);no apparent adverse reactions occurred during the treatment process in the two groups. Conclusion Adding Compound Qiying Granules has better clinical effect in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy,and can promote the recovery of sensory and motor nerve conduction velocity,increases the level of insulin-like growth factor-1,which is worthy of clinical promotion.关键词
