Comparison Research of HPLC and UV Methods for Determining Nitrofurazone Content

Abstract
Objective To establish a high performance liquid chromatography ( HPLC ) method for determining the nitrofurazone content and to compare it with the ultraviolet ( UV ) method. Methods With octadecylsilane chemically bonded silica as the filler,0. 125% tri-ethylamine buffer solution-acetonitrile solution (85 :15) was used as the mobile phase. The flow rate was 1 mL/min and the wave-length of detection was 375nm by the UV method. Results The nitrofurazone contents of three nitrofurazone solution samples deter-mined by the HPLC method were 90. 21%,90. 73% and 89. 75% of the labeled amount,while those determined by the UV method were 95. 72%,94. 09% and 94. 73% of the labeled amount respectively. Conclusion The determined content of nitrofurazone solution samples by the UV method is slightly higher than that determined by the HPLC method,but the HPLC method is more suitable as the content determination method for the nitrofurazone solution.关键词
