Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of levonorgestre-releasing intrauterine system ( LNG-IUS ) in the treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding and its influence on endometrial hyperplasia. Methods 72 cases of dysfunctional uterine bleeding and endometrial hyperplasia aged 31-50 years old were treated with LNG-IUS. The indexes of the menstrual amount, menstrual cycle, hemoglobin levels and endometrial thickness during treatment were compared with those before treatment. Results After the treatment of LNG-IUS, the menstrual amount was significantly decreased and reduced to ( 9 ± 3 ) mL after 1-year LNG-IUS treatment; the en-dometrial thickness was diminished from ( 0. 76 ± 0. 15 ) cm to ( 0. 39 ± 0. 08 ) cm, endometrial hyperplasia was improved after 6-month LNG-IUS treatment. At the same time, the hemoglobin levels showed the increasing trend and recovered to normal status after 6-momth treatment, the differences of the data between before and after treatment were statistically significant ( P < 0. 05 ) . But the differ-ence of the menstrual cycle had no statistically significant difference between before and after treatment. Conclusion LNG-IUS can effectively treat dysfunctional uterine bleeding, reduces the menstrual amount, also has the curative effect on endometrial hyperplasia and is worth popularizing.关键词
