Abstract
Objective To provide a realistic basis for the nursing strategies to improve the social support level of depression patients. Methods In this retrospective study, social support level of the 107 patients with depressive disorder in our hospital, compared with 107 non depressed patients, was evaluated with a relevant scale. Results Average score of social support level of depression group was (34.84±7.66), control group (35.62±3.19). The difference was not statistically significant; Average core of utilization of social support of depression group was (5.14±1.07), control group (7.84±1.47). The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01). Conclusion Patients with and without depression received roughly the same social support, but utilization of social support are significantly lower in those with depression. As mentally disordered, depression patients need care and support from health care staff urgently. Nursing staff should build an idea of nursing which emphasize improving the social support, assess the level of social support scientifically, strengthen and expand the patients' social support network, train the patients with social support concept, encourage active social participation of them, and help them create a supportive social environment.关键词
