Abstract
Objective To analyze the risk factors and collect the occurrence of nosocomial infection in neonatal ward, and to explore the methods of the prevention of nosocomial infection. Methods The clinical data of 5512 newborns in our hospital were analyzed from January 2009 to December 2013. Results There were 162 cases of nosocomial infection including 175 times in all newborns, the incidence rate was 3.17%, the fatality rate was 1.23%, and the average time of nosocomial infection was (13.31±11.85)d. The risk factors of nosocomial infection were the age less than 32 weeks, the birth weight less than 1500g, mechanical ventilation, PICC, and parenteral nutrition. The first infection was sepsis(44.50%), followed by lower respiratory tract infection and conjunctivitis. 41 strains were collected including 27 strains of gram negative bacteria (65.85%) and 11 strains of gram positive bacteria (26.83%) in all cases. Conclusion The methods of the prevention of nosocomial infection in neonates were the standardized management of neonatal ward and invasive operation, the reduction of the tracheal intubation.
