Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the application of proton pump inhibitors ( PPI) in Dongtai Hospital Affiliated to Nantong University(“our hospital”) so as to provide reference for clinical rational use and scientific management of PPI. METHODS:The application data of PPIs in our hospital from 211 to 2013 including varieties, consumption amount and consumption sum, DDDs and defined daily cost ( DDC ) retrieved from hospital information system ( HIS ) were analyzed statistically. RESULTS:The total DDDs and total consumption sum of PPI in our hospital showed upward trend from 2011 to 2012 yet negative growth from 2012 to 2013. Omeprazole, lansoprazole and pantoprazole were ranked among the top three on DDDs list;the PPI for injection in 2013 took a great proportion in both DDDs and consumption sum. The DDC was stable for each PPI. CONCLUSIONS:PPI had extensive clinical use in our hospital. Irrational phenomena such as use of PPI in the absence of indications, blindly preventive use, preference for the use of PPI for injection were noted, thus the construction of system regarding clinical use and management of PPI needs to be strengthened and improved to achieve institutionalized, standardized and normalized management on clinical use of PPI and form long-term working mechanism to facilitate the continuous improvement in clinical application and management of PPI.关键词
