Abstract
OBJECTIVE:The contents labeled in package inserts of eye drops in Joint Shantou International Eye Center of Shantou University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong ( hereinafter referred to as “our hospital”) were summarized and analyzed in order to provide references for health care workers and patients in correct and rational use and storage of the eye drops and for the drug manufacturers in improvement of the package inserts.METHODS:From January to June in 2014, a total of 67 package inserts of eye drops in our hospital were analyzed with regard to dosage & usage, adverse drug reactions, precautions, overdose, storage and validity etc.RESULTS: Of the 67 package inserts investigated, 35 were package inserts of domestic eye drops and 32 were ones of imported eye drops.In these package inserts of eye drops, some related precautions such as check the package before medication, wash your hands, body posture taken in using eye drops, dosage, usage, overdose, adverse reactions of drugs if used for long term, storage conditions, the usage and validity period of the unsealed or sealed eye drops etc were labeled more ore less in items of dosage and usage, precautions, overdose and storage.However, there was commonly lack of visualized diagrammatical presentations for guiding the usage or administration sites of eye drops.CONCLUSIONS: Different brands or kinds of eye drops varied greatly in dosage, administration interval, usage, storage conditions and validity period.The validity period of unsealed Eye Drops were far less than that that of the sealed ones.关键词
