Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the intervention outcome on prophylactic use of antibiotics for orthopedic patients undergoing typeⅠincision surgery and the role of clinical pharmacists in the management of prophylactic use of antibiotics .METHODS:Clinical pharmacists were involved in the management of on prophylactic use of antibiotics for orthopedic patients undergoing typeⅠincision surgery .The medical records of the orthopedic patients undergoing type Ⅰincision surgery were reviewed before and after intervention ( first and second stage of intervention ) for evaluation of the rationality of the antibiotic use and comparative analysis regarding the prophylactic antibiotic use .RESULTS:Compared with pre-intervention ,usage rate of antibiotis dropped from 98.56%to 28.96%after second stage intervention ,decreasing by 70.63%; AUD declined from 96.31 DDDs/( 100 persons· day ) to 32.18 DDDs/( 100 persons· day ) , decreasing by 66.59%.The choice of varieties , delivering timing and duration of antibiotics were rational .CONCLUSIONS: The involvement of clinical pharmacists in the management of prophylactic use of antibiotics for orthopedic patients undergoing typeⅠincision operation effectively contributed to standardization and rational use of antibiotics .关键词
