Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To analyze the irrational use of Chinese patent medicine in Pingyi County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine so as to promote clinical rational use of drug.METHODS: A total of 2 160 outpatient prescriptions of Chinese patent medicine were randomly sampled (180 monthly) from Pingyi County hospital during Jan.-Dec.period of 2013, with the irrational ones reviewed and analyzed retrospectively.RESULTS: 418 prescriptions (19.35%) were irrational, of which, 148 ( 6.85%) were nonstandard and 270 ( 12.5%) were irrational. CONCLUSION:The outpatient use of Chinese patent medicine in this hospital was basically rational yet it is far from perfect, therefore, it is important for clinicians and pharmacists strengthen learning pharmaceutical knowledge so as to improve the level of rational use of drug.The clinical pharmacy department and other regulatory departments should take rational use of traditional Chinese medicine as a top priority to ensure standardized, scientific and rational use of traditional Chinese medicine by taking such measures like training and guidance, supervision and review, summary, feedback and continuous improvement etc.关键词
