Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy of rhGM-CSF plus topical mupirocin ointment for large residual burn wounds as well as its effect on vascular endothelial growth factor.METHODS:67 patients with extensive burns (127 wounds) were randomly assigend to either observation group (35 cases/69 wounds) treated with rhGM-CSF plus topical mupirocin ointment or control group(32 cases/58 wounds) treated with topical mupirocin ointment alone.The response rate, wound healing rate, average healing time, wound bacterial clearance rate and mean optical density value of vascular endothelial growth factor in the two groups were compared.RESULTS: The total response rate and the wound healing rate in the observation group were significantly higher than in the control gorup [92.75%(64/69) and 91.30%(63/69) vs.75.86%(44/58) and 77.59%(45/58)];the mean wound healing time was significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group [(18.07 ±4.26) days vs.(23.18 ±3.72) days]; the wound bacterial clearance rate in the observation group was significantly higher than in the cotnrol group [ ( 84.62%(22/26) vs.40.74%(11/27);the mean optical density value of vascular endothelial growth factor in the observation group was significantly higher than in the cotnrol group(0.23 ±0.03 vs.0.17 ±0.02), and all the differences were statistically significant ( P <0.05 ) .CONCLUSIONS: The additional of topical rhGM-CSF to mupirocin ointment resulted in remarkable efficacy for residual burn wounds in patients with extensive burn and significantly elevated expression of vascular endothelial growth factor, which thus is of great clinical research value.关键词
