Application Analysis of Antibiotics for Special Use in Three A Level Hospitals in Chaoshan Region of East of Guangdong

Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the application of antibiotics for special use in a three-A level hospitald so as promote rational use and scientific management of antibiotics.METHODS: The application data of antibiotics for special use in five three-grade level hospitals in Chaoshan region of east of Guangdong province during 2012-2014 were analyzed with regard to consumption sum, DDDs, antibiotic use density ( AUD ) and department distribution. RESULTS: The consumption sum and DDDs in hospital A were the highest each year from 2012 to 2014, with consumption sum of 11 047 000 Yuan ( 58.43%) , 10 889 990 Yuan ( 53.35%) and 12 203 200 Yuan ( 52.20%) , respectively over the three years and DDDs of 29 373.40, 21 650.65 and 19 636.33, respectively over three years. The consumption sum and DDDs of Imipenem/cilastatin sodium took the lead at 5 780 400 Yuan ( 30.60%) , 7 152 700 Yuan(35.04%) and 8 448 500 Yuan(36.14%), respectively;meropenem took the lead in DDDs, which stood at 16 636.75, 17 413.63 and 18 101.88; however, the DDDs of Aztreonem decreased from 18 759.50 to 4 252.50 over three years.Hospital D had the highest AUD, which decreased from 6.47 DDD/(100 persons per day) in 2012 to 4.33 DDD/(100 persons per day) in 2014, followed by hospital A, which decreased from 6.25 DDD/(100 persons per day ) to 3.40 DDD/( 100 persons per day ) .The antibiotics for special use used in department of respiratory diseases and ICU were the highest in terms of number of varieties.CONCLUSIONS: The application tendency of antibiotics for special use was well on the whole, but it has some problems;therefore, we must strengthen management on antibiotic use by scientific selecting drug variety and avoiding abuse so as to guarantee the important status of antibiotics for special use in treatment of serious infectious disease.关键词
