Abstract
ABSTRACTObjective:To investigate the characteristics of serious adverse drug reactions(ADRs)so as to pro-vide a reference for ADR monitoring.Methods:The reports of 171 cases of severe ADRs submitted by Xiaogan city from 2011 to 2013 were extracted from the National Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring System. The data was analyzed such as the source of report, patient sex, drug species, route of administration and ADR involving or-gans/systems.Results:The serious ADR reporting rate was associated with age and gender factors, serious ADRs in children and the elderly were higher than young and middle-aged people(P<0.05)and higher in women than in men(the ratio of male to female was 1∶1.44,P<0.05). In 171 cases of severe ADRs, 78 cases(45.62%) ever used anti-infective drugs, 37 cases(21.64%)used Vitamins, nutritional supplements and the drugs of regulat-ing water-electrolyte and acid-base balance, and 15 cases(8.77%)were given traditional Chinese medicine injec-tions. About 125 cases(73.09%)received intravenous dripping and 26 cases(15.20%)took medicines by oral ad-ministration. Allergic reactions occurred in 82 cases(47.95%)and 36 cases(21.05%)got skin and appendages disorder.Conclusion:The high incidence of serious ADRs in Xiaogan city from 2011 to 2013 occurred in women, children and elder people after taking medicines, and mostly induced by anti-infective drugs and by intravenous ad-ministration. More attention should be paid to serious ADR monitoring.关键词
