Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Chinese medicine of resolving phlegm and dredging collaterals in treating hypertension, and its effect on vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Methods Sixty-eight hypertension patients with accumulation of phlegm and blood stasis were randomly divided into two groups, 34 cases of control group received Nifedipine controlled-release tablets, 34 cases of treatment group received Chinese medicine of resolving phlegm and dredging collaterals additionally, with treatment course of 12 weeks. Antihypertensive efficacy of the two groups was observed, and blood pressure, TCM symptom score and serum VEGF level of two groups before and after treatment were compared. Results The total effective rate of the control group and the treatment group was 79.4%(27/34) and 91.2%(31/34) respectively, the difference between them was significant (P<0.05). After treatment, SBP, DBP, TCM syndrome score and serum VEGF level of the two groups were significantly decreased (P<0.01). The indexes of the treatment group was better than the control group (P<0.05), and the cases with adverse reaction of the treatment group was less than the control group. Conclusion Chinese medicine of resolving phlegm and dredging collaterals has significant antihypertensive effect in treating hypertension with accumulation of phlegm and blood stasis, can improve patients' clinical symptoms, reduce serum VEGF level, thus improve vascular endothelial function to some extent.关键词
