Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of chirp-ASSR in children hearing evaluation and the correlation be-tween the thresholds of chirp-ASSR and pure tone audiometry. Methods Pure tone audiometry and Chirp-ASSR were tested in 40 children (74 ears) at the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University hearing center between June 2012 and Feb-ruary 2013, and the data were analyzed. Results Of the 40 children (age 4-13 years,7.7 years in average), 34 tested ears were on right and 40 on left;and 48 ears were from boys and 26 ears from girls. Of these ears, 59 showed normal hearing, while 15 showed hearing loss (mild=4 , moderate=6 and severe=5). The correlation coefficients between the thresholds of chirp-AS-SR and pure tone audiometry at 0.5, 1, 2 and 4 kHz were 0.812, 0.884, 0.842 and 0.892 respectively. The differences between thresholds of Chirp-ASSR and pure tone audiometry at were further reduced when normalized. Conclusions Chirp-ASSR can be a valid technique for objective estimation of hearing thresholds in children.关键词
