摘要

Abstract

Due to the unique anatomical and physiological features of the cochlea, systemic drug/gene therapy is diffi⁃cult to achieve effective local concentrations in the inner ear. Therefore,research on local drug/gene in the inner ear has be⁃come a new hotspot. Selecting an appropriate vector for local drug/gene therapy is the key point. Compared with virus vec⁃tor, polymer nanoparticle vector has the advantages of carrying low toxicity and no immunogenicity, and being easy to modify and acquire with high transporting capability, making it a improved option as a vector for drug/gene delivery to the inner ear. This paper summarizes the characteristics of cationic polymers and their superiority as drug/gene vector. Furthermore, it al⁃so reviews the application of cationic polymers in the inner ear, and provides guidance for potential transition towards drug/gene therapies bb for inner ear disorders.
