Abstract
As a symbol for Shanghai's literature,Eileen Chang's essays express distinct public consciousness,in-curring misunderstanding from many readers,who regard her works as relish and the pursuit of fulfilling material and sensational pleasure.However,Eileen Chang's writings repel the material and mental pursuit as was in the tra-ditional Chinese agricultural society by means of intense modern-world cultural consciousness,resolve the literature tradition and the speech standard set by the mainstream ideology from the public living philosophy,and finally tran-scend the disgusting civilian's interest and political period through the reflection on the ontological literary con-sciousness.Her works were created not merely to cater to readers,but more than to guide and transcend the public awareness.关键词
