Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect on VEP by acupuncturing patients with glaucoma , and to explore the mechanism of treatment of acupuncture .Methods:40 eyes of 40 patients with optical atrophy caused by glaueoma were randomly divided into a treatment group (20 cases,20 eyes) and a control group (20 cases,20 eyes ) .Intraocular pressure was reduced to below 17 mmHg by surgery .And the treatment group was treated by acupuncture while the control group was treated by nothing .Every patient was examined on vision , visual e-voked potential three times .The three-time point was before treatment and after treatment and after 3 months o-ver the treatment .Compare the data with statistical analysis .Results:Compared with the data before treatement , the difference of visions in treatement group was statistically significant .In control group visual acuity before and after treatment was compared and there was no significant difference .As to the visual evoked potential ( VEP) ,in the treatment group the amplitude of the P 100 wave was improved ,and there were significant differences;the la-tency of the P100 wave was shortened ,and there were significant differences .Compare the amplitude of visual e-voked potential before and after treatment in the control group ,and there was no significant difference;as to the comparison of latency there was no significant difference.The efficacy in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The acupuncture has an obvious efficacy on optical atrophy caused by glaueoma ,and could protect the optical nerve from the damage of glaucoma .关键词
