Abstract
Objective:To study the curative effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on facial paralysis at acute period and the relationship between acupuncture and prosopospasm.Methods:624 cases of facial paralysis with acute stage were randomly divided into a western medicine group and an acupuncture group,with 312 cases in each group.The western medicine group was with conventional western medical treatment,and the acupuncture group was treated by acupuncture,continuously for 4 weeks.The clinical symptoms and signs of the patients were observed before and after the treatment and evaluate the House-Brac Kman grading.After the treatment, all the patients received follow-up bimonthly for the prosopospasm issues in two years.Results:The effective rate of acupuncture group(74.8%) was obviously higher than that of 51.8% in the western medicine group(P<0.01 ) .It was 6 cases with prosopospasm in acupuncture group while it was 5 cases in western medicine group within 2 years.but there were no differences between two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:In acute period for facial paralysis,using the acupuncture as the treatment can obviously improve the therapeutic efficacy,and it will not lead to prosopospasm.关键词
