Effect of Acupuncture at Zusanli and Shangjuxu on Recovery of Gastrointestinal Function in Rats after Appendix Operation
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To research the feasible mechanism of acupuncture at Zusanli and Shangjuxu on rodent stomach intestine functional recovery after appendix operation.Methods:60 male and female rats were randomly divided into a control group,a surgical group and a therapy group.After one hour the rats in surgical group and therapy group had the appendix operation,and all the animals were given Phenol red paste (1 ml/100 g body weight) by gavage.Acupuncture at Zusanli and Shangjuxu was carried out instantly in therapy group after the gavage,and the process of acupuncture was repeated after six hours.When the therapy was completed, all the animals were slaughtered and the small intestines were gained to test the red paste concentrations and the levels of GAS.Results:The peak of the red paste concentrations appeared at the end-piece of the small intestines in control group, but it was in initial segment in surgical group.Similar peak of the red paste also appeared in therapy group at the middle segment.The red paste concentrations in different segments were significantly dif-ferent from the same segment in surgical group ( P<0.05 ) , but without statistical difference in control group (P>0.05).The GAS levels were higher in therapy group than those in surgical group (P<0.05), but with-out significant difference between therapy group and control group.Conclusion:Acupuncture at Zusanli and Shangjuxu might regulate the enteric GAS levels to promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function after abdom-inal surgery in rats.关键词
